For the Month of May, WARIF spoke with the Country Director for Global Citizen, Ms. Maimuna Maibe.
Maimuna is an Environmentalist with triple-bottom-line operations experience specializing in waste management and environmental strategy. As a competent and driven professional with work experience across private and public sectors, Maimuna has robust knowledge of community relations, global sustainability strategy and operations, partnership management and resource recovery.

As the Country Director for Global Citizens Nigeria, she is responsible for Global Citizen’s advocacy and campaigning within the Nigerian market. Maimuna has a BSc in Public Health from Coventry University, UK, MSc in Corporate Environmental Management from the University of Surrey, UK and a Diploma in Waste to Energy Technologies from Queensland University of Technology, Australia. She is also an active member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) UK, African Roundtable on Sustainable Consumption and Production (ARSCP) and African Renewable Energy Alliance (AREA).
