WARIF in partnership with @girlsopportunityalliance under the WARIF Community Pillar, as part of the broader WARIF Girls Educational Program, recently conducted a Parents and Teachers Forum.

This forum served as an essential platform for open dialogue, aiming to address the pressing concerns associated with gender-based violence, as well as the pivotal roles parents, guardians, and mentors play in supporting children who have experienced sexual abuse and require a safe and empathetic space to share their experiences.

Participants engaged in candid discussions regarding the multifaceted issue of gender-based violence. The focus was not only on its identification and prevention but also on the crucial role of adult figures in children’s lives in facilitating healing and recovery.

The forum recognized the pivotal position parents, guardians, and mentors hold in fostering trust and open communication channels with children who have experienced sexual abuse, ensuring that they feel heard, understood, and supported.
