On the 12th of May 2024, the Women at Risk International Foundation – WARIF, held its first WARIF Story Fundraising Event in Lagos. What an inspiring and successful evening it was!

At WARIF, our mission is to provide unwavering support for survivors of rape and sexual violence, achieved through our 3 guiding pillars of Health, Education and Community Service. With a commitment to ensuring survivors receive comprehensive post-incident care at the WARIF Rape Crisis Centre free of charge was the highlight of the evening.

Through compelling narratives, beneficiaries from all 3 pillars shared their stories of trauma and healing and the impact of WARIF in transforming their lives and restoring well-being and security.

A Call to Action was made to raise much-needed funds for the Centre with unanimous commitments made by all present!

At the event were, the First Lady of Ogun State, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, UN Women Country Representative to Nigeria & ECOWAS, Ms. Beatrice Eyong, the Deputy British High Commissioner, Mr. John Baxter, represented by Mr. Adewale Adebajo, the executive board of directors of WARIF, Executive Vice Chairman SAPETRO Oil and Gas, Senator Daisy Danjuma, Chairman Afriland Properties Plc, Erelu Angela Adebayo (WARIF’s Chair), Founder, African Women’s Development Board; AWDF Erelu Bisi Fayemi, Global CIO for Adidas, Mrs. Fumbi Chima, WARIF Director, Mr. Usman Abdulrazak and the Chair of the WARIF Planning Committee; Mrs. Yewande Zacchaeus, alongside stakeholders and our incredible community of friends and allies of WARIF.
