It was exactly 10yrs ago when a determined and resolute Malala Yousafzai, on her 16th birthday, graced the podium before the @UnitedNations. With a voice that reverberated across the globe, she called upon world leaders to act and protect the freedom of girls to pursue education—a right for which she had nearly sacrificed her life just a year prior.
On the 10th year anniversary of her seminal speech, the Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and UN Messenger of Peace, @malala ‘s words resonated with the same courage and impact as she spoke before a gathering of champions, young advocates, and esteemed civil society leaders at the UN House, in Abuja, Nigeria.
