Social Welfare Services

In collaboration with Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Response Team (DSRVT) and the office of the public defender (OPD), survivors of sexual abuse and domestic violence are assured of free legal representation. The OPD also provides a social worker that will accompany the survivor to the Police Station and also to court, depending on the level of risk involved.

We operate a well-managed legal department for this purpose, and our capacity to offer legal aid is limited only by the availability of funds to expand and sustain this service. Through the Legal department, WARIF seeks to assist women and young people through legal and financial aid and resolution of family conflicts.
