Following the launch of the third cycle of the gatekeepers project, WARIF in partnership with @fordfoundation is training 100 selected Religious leaders from various Local Government Areas.
Our tertiary Gatekeepers were sensitised on the proper protocols to follow when faced with incidents of rape and sexual violence. They were educated on how to address issues of GBV, questions to ask and the appropriate timelines in which to refer survivors to the WARIF centre for the much needed medical care and psychosocial therapy.
The training of the trainer approach adopted by WARIF will ensure the program is sustainable and will cascade to other religious leaders across both the Christian and Islamic religions.
