This grassroots initiative is designed to raise awareness about SGBV and connect local communities to WARIF’s services.
This program is our data-driven grassroots initiative, designed to raise awareness about SGBV and connect residents to WARIF’s services. Community leaders and members in markets, hospitals, police stations, and local businesses are sensitized to the prevalence of sexual and gender-based violence, empowering them to recognize abuse and know where to access support.
The pilot in Sabo Market, Lagos alone reached 500 individuals, leaving measurable impressions on awareness and response behavior. Through ongoing outreach and referral pathways, the program ensures that information and help are rooted in everyday community spaces.
By engaging both public and private stakeholders in their natural environments, the program transforms neighborhoods into safe zones where survivors know they are seen, heard, and supported.
