Sexual Assault Referral Centres (SARCs)

SARCs replicate the care model of the Rape Crisis Centre to provide survivors across Nigeria with timely medical attention, forensic services, and psychosocial support.

We partner with state governments and local communities to run Sexual Assault Referral Centres (SARCs) in strategic communities. These centers replicate the care model of the Rape Crisis Centre, ensuring survivors across Nigeria can access timely medical attention, forensic services, and psychosocial support.

Staffed by trained healthcare and counseling professionals, SARCs provide critical services including forensic examinations, HIV testing, emergency contraception, and trauma-informed counseling to survivors. They also serve as coordination hubs for referrals to legal aid, shelters, and community support.

SARCs follow standardized, trauma-informed procedures that safeguard survivor dignity and legal integrity. By embedding comprehensive care within local communities, we can reduce barriers to access, particularly in underserved or rural areas, and ensure survivors receive compassionate, expert support wherever they are.
