The WARIF Skill Acquisition Program held on Monday and Wednesday, 27th & 29th May, 2019 where over 100 students were trained on the following skills;

  • Bead and cake making
  • Makeup and Gele tying
  • Ankara Works & Creation of Fascinators
  • Production of Toiletries
Participants learning Soap Making and Disinfectants.

The 2 day training program sponsored by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through the support of Pathfinder International was targeted towards secondary school level girls with the aim of equipping them with various vocational skills of interest and encourage economic empowerment and independence.
Participants were students from;

  • Lagos City Senior College
  • Surulere Senior Secondary School
  • Surulere Girls Secondary School

 

WARIF intends to scale this program up to include all young girls and women who are survivors of rape and sexual violence who require economic independence.
