WARIF has trained over 100 Law Enforcement Officers

As part of our activities for Sexual Assault Awareness Month, WARIF has trained over 100 Law Enforcement Officers on how to effectively manage cases of Gender Based Violence with the support of @actfoundation_ The Police Officers were trained on the proper protocols in attending to survivors of rape and sexual violence as well as gender sensitivity in addressing survivors. They were also educated on the services that WARIF offers and how to refer these survivors for immediate care. ...

On Saturday, the 23rd of March, we had the first WARIF MAKOKO COMMUNITY OUTREACH sponsored by @usaid and in partnership with @slum2school . The WARIF team participated in the sensitisation of almost 500 youths on the prevalence and effects of rape and sexual violence. Today is Human Rights Day 2018 with the theme “Stand Up For Human Rights” This marks the last day of the UN 16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence campaign, #HearMeToo.   Rape and sexual violence against young girls and women is a violation of their fundamental human right to life, liberty, freedom from slavery and torture and from any opinion and expression that continues to  perpetuate the wall of silence that persists.
