Know Your Community is a neighborhood community initiative designed and implemented by the Foundation to raise awareness to the issue of gender based violence and the services provided by the WARIF Centre in the Lagos Mainland Local Government Area where the Centre is located.
Community leaders and members, both men and women in neighborhood marketplaces, hospitals, police stations, and other areas of businesses within the Yaba axis are targeted and sensitized to the issues of rape, sexual violence and assault in their communities.
This strategy has been found to be highly effective in targeted groups such as market places like Sabo Market, one of the oldest market places in Lagos State where a positive impact on 500 individuals sensitized on prevalence of gender based violence and the assistance rendered by the WARIF Centre was measured.
